We were out on the street last Saturday (January 24) and for the first time since I don’t know when, I actually managed to get rid of all my literature in about an hour. The Smyrna-Clayton area is a “hard” area spiritually (that I’ve noticed in my 10 years here) and passing out tracts is not always an easy proposition. What made it even more noteworthy is that it was quite cold and windy, so the number of people on the street was probably lower than usual. And, as usual, the number of people visiting our church as a result of such activities (we also had another man in our church making some visits at the same time) will probably be close to zero. You can make a thousand visits and pass out a thousand tracts and get no visitors. It can be very discouraging, considering the very low percentage of interest that you get while out soulwinning. But every so often, we will get a “nibble on the line”, just not as often as we would like. But God sends us an occasional soul or a visitor to keep us encouraged and to remind us that such work is not in vain.
