Your Tuesday Word of Wisdom

September 15, 2009

“…Here we find a description of the mass rebellion against the elites, the deification of youth, the ever mounting expropriation of the well-to-do until they begin to defend themselves, whereupon the masses select a ‘leader’ whose task it is to protect ‘the people’; we see the bodyguards paid by the demagogue, the flight of the wealthy and the intellectuals, the rejection of democracy by the desperate upper classes as a result of this development, the evolution from ‘protection’ to tyranny, the spoilation of the temples, the militarization of the masses, the recruiting of criminals into the police force, the provocation of military conflicts in order to impose emergency measures at home, and thus a stricter national discipline, finally ‘purges’ and a mounting wave of corruption.”

—Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn in Liberty or Equality, pages 12-13

Is this not a good description of our present distress in this country?

It’s Only a “Hate Crime” if a Christian Does It…

April 27, 2009

Keep tabs on HR1913 in the House of Representatives, which could be used to jail and Christian (especially pastors) who speak out against homosexuality. With an extremist Congress and a radical President currently in power, the threat is real.

Article is here.

Georgetown University- Ashamed of Jesus?

April 16, 2009

They Powers That Be at Catholic-run Georgetown University apparently would rather have Barack Obama speak at their university, even if it meant covering up any religious symbols that would offend the spiritually delicate and those easily offended.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Jesus-Missing-From-Obamas-Georgetown-Speech.html

Ashamed of Jesus but not of Obama? Who is Georgetown really kneeling to? Is having the President of the United States speak at your precious university really worth obeying White House dictates that any religious symbols be covered? Did Georgetown sell its spiritial soul for a bowl of political pottage?

An Interesting Take on 2 Corinthians 8:14

April 1, 2009

In our family devotions this morning, my wife made an interesting observation on the phrase “…your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for their want: that there may be equality,” (2 Corinthians 8:14, King James Version, of course!) My wife read that and said “Sounds like Obama, doesn’t it?”

Sure does, but also sounds like Congress. They think they have the right to re-distribute our wealth to meet the “wants” of others so that we may all be equal. I know Paul had nothing like that in mind when he penned that verse but it just shows again how that the Bible is more up-to-date than this morning’s newspaper!

Shame on Notre Dame…

March 28, 2009

For inviting President Obama to speak at their upcoming commencement and for giving him an honorary degree. Now I understand that the Roman Catholic Church is officially against abortion and that Obama is the most radical, pro-abortion President we’ve ever had. So what exactly is the administration of Notre Dame thinking in honoring a man with such an unchristian position as this?

“Earth Hour”? What a Joke

March 28, 2009

Sorry, but I will not participate in any way, shape, manner of form with this environmentalist joke called “Earth Hour” tonight. Since man-made global warming is a myth, there is no need to participate in such foolishness. I think I’ll turn on every light in the house tonight instead and I’d urge others to do the same! *insert evil, mad-scientist laugh here*
